A great installation begins long before the first panel goes up. Our crews plan, flash, and fasten every wall with decades of durability in mind, not just tomorrow's curb appeal.
Good siding is only as reliable as what's underneath it, so our crews always start by examining the wall itself, sheathing, house wrap, and window flashing, before setting a single panel. Homes in Yantic, CT deal with real seasonal swings, and siding installed without proper attention to drainage and ventilation gaps can trap moisture long before any sign of it shows up on the outside. We build that inspection into every job because catching a soft board or a gap in the weather barrier now is a fraction of the cost of opening up a wall down the road.
Once we've confirmed the substrate is solid, we lay out starter strips, corner posts, and J-channel so each course runs true across the entire wall. Fasteners are placed to give panels room to expand and contract with the weather, a step that's easy to rush but shows up later as buckling if it's skipped. Seams are staggered on purpose rather than left to chance, and every transition around a window, door, or roofline is individually cut and properly flashed instead of patched over with caulk. Our aim on every project is a wall that looks sharp from the curb and holds up even better under close inspection.
Most homeowners in Yantic, CT come to us weighing a few different material options, vinyl, fiber cement, wood, and each one carries its own trade-offs around cost, style, and long-term upkeep. We walk through those options honestly before you commit to anything, then take care of the whole job, from removing the old siding to finishing the last piece of trim. After #YEARS years installing siding throughout the area, our approach hasn't changed: measure carefully, flash everything properly, and leave the site cleaner than we found it.
Most single-family homes are finished in three to seven working days, depending on the size of the home, its height, and how much trim work is involved. Rainy stretches can push the timeline out a bit.
Only where it's needed. We inspect the sheathing during tear off and recommend replacement only in spots that have softened or come apart, keeping sound sections in place to hold down cost.
Generally yes, as long as temperatures stay within the manufacturer's recommended range for that material. Vinyl needs a bit of extra care in the cold since it stiffens up and becomes less forgiving to work with.
